There are a few ways to estimate your horse's weight. One is by the use of a weight tape which has "pounds" marked on it, measuring the horse's heart girth.

Another method is:

[] Measure the circumference (heart girth)

[] Measure the length of body (point of shoulder to point of butt)

[] Formula: heart girth x heart girth x length divided by 300 + 50 = weight.



Supposedly comes within 3% of actual weight.
